Eating for Him Series
My last post showed 7 Simple Ways to Eat Healthier, so I thought this post should include one of my favorite real food recipes. This is not a food blog, but occasionally I will post about food.
In a large bowl mix together: 3 1/2 cups oatmeal, 3 teaspoons cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, 1/4 teaspoon ginger, two small bags of your favorite chopped nuts.
Combine 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup and three tablespoons olive oil in a small pot. Heat until boiling. Remove from the heat and add 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
Pour over the dry mixture and stir, making sure the granola is evenly coated.
Cover a cookie sheet with parchment paper, then spread granola onto the paper, flattening with a spoon..
Bake at 325 for 20 to 25 minutes or until the edges are brown.
Cool and then break into pieces. Store in a covered container.
